Divine Child Jesus

Adoration

Draw near to the manger and behold the mystery: I, the Eternal God, have stooped to lie in straw. "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth", not as a distant sovereign but as the Infant who reveals the Father's heart. Adore Me here, for in this helpless form the fullness of divinity dwells bodily. I desire your worship to rise like the angels' hymn that split the heavens: "Glory to God in the highest". Let every breath praise the One who upholds the universe by the word of his power, yet chose to be cradled by a virgin's hands.

The prophets foretold My coming as the Mighty God: "For to us a child is born… and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" Kneel with the Magi, who recognized in Me the King of kings and offered gifts that confessed My sovereignty. I ask the same of you: present the gold of a life surrendered, the frankincense of unceasing prayer, the myrrh of every trial borne in union with My cross. Praise Me for the humility that veiled omnipotence, for "though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich".

Acknowledge My eternal throne even in this lowly cradle. "Let all the angels of God worship him" and join their chorus. When you exalt Me above every name, the joy of the Nativity floods your soul, for I came "to give light to those who sit in darkness". Adore the God who became man, who will draw you into the life of the Blessed Trinity, where peace reigns forever.
