Forgiveness of Sins

I want to speak to your heart about the forgiveness of sins. I came into this world as a little one, vulnerable and pure, to show you how much my Father loves you and desires to wipe away every stain from your soul. When you confess your faults to me, it's like opening a door in your heart, letting my light flood in. I don't want you to hide in shame or fear; instead, I ask you to come to me with trust, just as the prodigal son returned to his father. He confessed his wrongs and his father ran to embrace him, clothing him in mercy. I want you to run to me and let me restore you with my forgiving mercy.

Remember that confession isn't a burden, but a gift I gave through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I breathed on my apostles and said: "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld." Through my priests I continue this work, absolving you and setting you free. I want you to seek this sacrament often, not out of obligation, but out of love for me. Think of how I forgave the woman caught in adultery, telling her: "Neither do I condemn you; go and from now on sin no more." That's my heart for you, mercy without end, with a gentle call to turn away from sin and walk in my ways.

And oh, how my Father's mercy is vast! "As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us." I want you to believe this deeply, to seek my mercy without hesitation, knowing that if you confess your sins, I am faithful and forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness, as promised. I also ask something of you, forgive others as I forgive you. I taught that if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will forgive you. So let your heart be like mine, tender, open and quick to pardon. Come to me always and let us begin anew each day in the joy of forgiveness.
